sündinud 28. oktoobril 1961. aastal Stockholmis Asta ja Kalju Lepiku peres. Aino Lepik on lõpetanud Stockholmi Eesti algkooli ning Stockholmi Prantsuse gümnaasiumi. Ta on õppinud Inglismaal Surrey ülikoolis ning lõpetanud Stockholmi ülikooli õigusteaduskonna 1987. aastal. Aastatel 1987 - 1990 töötas Aino Lepik juristina Örebro halduskohtus ning 1990 - 1992 prokurörina Stockholmi prokuratuuris. 1993 - 1994 töötas Aino Lepik Vabariigi Valitsuse õigusnõunikuna, aastatel 1994 - 1997 Välisministeeriumi juriidilise osakonna inimõiguste büroo juhatajana ning aastatel 1997 - 1999 Välisministeeriumi juriidilise osakonna peadirektorina. Riigisekretär 25. märtsist 1999 kuni 8. augustini 2003. Alates augustist 2003 on Aino Lepik Eesti Vabariigi erakorraline ja täievoliline suursaadik Portugali Vabariigis. Aino Lepik kuulus kohtuministrina Eesti Vabariigi Valitsuse eksiilis viimasesse koosseisu. 1994 - 1999 oli ta Eesti esindaja Euroopa Nõukogu rassismi ja võõravaenulikkuse komisjonis (ECRI) ning 1997 - 1999 Eesti esindaja Euroopa Nõukogu Inimõiguste Komisjonis. Aino Lepik on Stockholmis asuva Balti Arhiivi juhatuse esimees ning EÜS Põhjala liige. Abielus Jorma von Wiréniga (s. 1954). Peres kasvab kaks last - poeg Illimar (s. 1989) ja tütar Mari (s. 1998). Aino Lepikut on autasustatud järgmiste teenetemärkidega: Riigivapi teenetemärgi III klass, Eesti Kaitseväe eriteenete rist, Kreeka Vabariigi Phoenix orden (Grand Commander of the Order of the Phoenix), Saksamaa Liitvabariigi Teeneteordeni Suur Teeneteristi tähe ja õlapaelaga, Malta Vabariigi Teeneteorden (Companion with Breast Star of the National Order of Merit), Soome Lõvi Rüütelkonna suurrist, Poola Vabariigi Teeneteordeni Komandöririst tähega, Norra Kuningliku Teeneteordeni suurrist ja Portugali Vabariigi Teeneteordeni suurrist. Uno Veering 1995-1999 Uno Veering sündis 27. oktoobril 1949 Harjumaal. 1978. aastal lõpetas ta kiitusega Tartu Ülikooli õigusteaduskonna, misjärel on töötanud Tallinna Linna Täitevkomitees juristina, osakonnajuhatajana ja täitevkomitee sekretärina; Ülemnõukogu Presiidiumis juriidilise osakonna juhatajana, Harju abimaavanemana, riigiministrina (1992. aastal), Eesti Sotsiaalpanga juhatuse aseesimehena ning Tallinna abilinnapeana. Riigisekretär alates 18. aprillist 1995 kuni 24.märtsini 1999. Praegu töötab ta Keskkonnaministeeriumi asekantslerina. Uno Veering on Tallinn-Eesti I Lions klubi liige. Vabal ajal tegeleb tervisespordiga ning huvitub kirjandusest ja kujutavast kunstist. Abielus on Uno Veering alates 1976. aastast. Abikaasa Leili Veering töötab Tallinna Linnavalitsuses juristina. Peres on kaks poega. Seoses riigivisiitidega on Uno Veeringut autasustatud Rootsi Kuningliku Põhjatäheordeni 1. järguga, Soome Lõvi ordeni suurristiga ning Norra Kuningriigi ordeniga. Ülo Kaevats 1992-1995 Ülo Kaevats sündis 29. septembril 1947. a. Hiiumaal, Kassaris. 1972. aastal lõpetas ta Tartu Riikliku Ülikooli füüsiku-teoreetikuna ja individuaalprogrammi alusel teadusfilosoofina. Ülo Kaevats on töötanud Eesti NSV Teaduste Akadeemia Ajaloo Instituudi teaduri ja filosoofia sektori juhataja kohusetäitjana (1973-1981), Teaduste Akadeemia filosoofiakateedri dotsendina (1981-1989) ja Eesti Entsüklopeedia peatoimetajana (1989-1992; 1995-2000). Riigisekretär 20. oktoobrist 1992 kuni 18. aprillini 1995. Sel ajal juhtis ta Eesti Informaatikanõukogu, Heraldikanõukogu ja Teenetemärkide Komitee tööd. Alates 1999. aastast töötab Ülo Kaevats Tallinna Tehnikaülikooli professori ja filosoofia õppetooli juhatajana. Ülo Kaevats on üle saja publikatsiooni autor ja mitme raamatu koostaja, ta on juhtinud paljude teatmeteoste koostamist. Ülo Kaevats oli 1988-1990 Eestimaa rahvarinde programmikomitee ja aukohtu esimees, osales Rahvarinde I eestseisuse töös. 1995-2000 oli ta Tartu Ülikooli Kuratooriumi esimees, aastast 1995 on Ülo Kaevats Eesti Teadlaste Liidu juhatuse liige. Abielus on Ülo Kaevats aastast 1977. Abikaasa Mall Kaevats (Jõgi) on kirjanduskriitik ja Töötab EV Kultuuriministeeriumi nõunikuna. Peres on kaks poega, Mihkel ja Marten. Katrin Nyman-Metcalf 1990-1992 Katrin Merike Nyman-Metcalf (a-ni 1987 Nyman) sündis 7. mail 1963 Stockholmis insener Einar Nymani (1929-1997) ja kooliõpetaja Edith Kotka-Nymani (s. Kotka) tütrena. Abielus magister Mark Matthew Metcalfiga (1957-1996), õde Helle ja vend Hendrik. Lõpetas Sigtuna gümnaasiumi 1982, Uppsala Ülikooli õigusteaduse alal 1986, cand. jur. 1986, samas doktorant rahvusvahelise õiguse alal a-st 1988, dr. jur. 1999 tööga "Activities in Space - Appropriation or Use?" (Uppsala, 1999). Eesti Naisüliõpilaste Seltsi liige. Eesti Vabariigi Valitsuse eksiilis riigisekretär 1990-1992. Töötanud 1988-1989 Londonis Grundberg Mocatta advokaadibüroos, siis Rootsi tööministeeriumi ametnik, rahvusvaheliste organisatsioonide ametnik Bosnia-Hertsegoviinas, a-st 1999 Riia Kõrgema Õigusteadusliku Kooli (Riga Graduate School of Law) ja Concordia Rahvusvahelise Ülikooli (Tallinnas) õppejõud, a-st 2001 ühtlasi ka Human Dynamics'i õigus- ja arendusdirektor Viinis. Avaldanud ülevaate "The Rights of the Individual in Estonia" (London, 1990). Arved Ruusa 1971-1990 Arved Ruusa (Ruus) sündis 28. augustil 1900 Tartumaal Vana-Kuuste vallas Ebrol ning suri 15. detsembril 1992 Stockholmis. Vanemad: talunik Jaan Ruusa (1850-) ja Mari Ruusa (s. Petulai). Abiellus 1937 Veronika Kallasega (1912-). Lapsed Ene (1940) ja Jaan (1952). Õppis Vana-Kuuste ministeeriumikoolis 1912-1915, H. Heinrich Mark 1953-1971 Heinrich Mark sündis 1. oktoobril 1911 Võrumaal Kõlleste (Krootuse) vallas Otsal talunik August Margki (1883-1955) ja Anna Karoline Margki (s. Raig; 1887-1945) peres ning suri 2. augustil 2004 Stockholmis. Vanim vend Adolf (s. 1905) arreteeriti 1944. a septembris, mõisteti 25 aastaks vangilaagrisse ja edasi asumisele, suri Siberis vangilaagris, vend Alvard (s. 1907) tapeti metsavennana 1945, vend Aksel (s. 1913) on olnud Eesti Vabariigi Valitsuse eksiilis portfellita minister 1956-1962, siseminister 1962-1992, a-st 1964 ka peaministri asetäitja abi. Abielus Alice Wreemaniga, poeg Peeter (s. 1954). Õppis Karaski ja Kanepi algkoolis, Võru Õpetajate Seminaris 1926-1930, Tartu Õpetajate Seminaris 1930-1932, Tartu Ülikoolis õigusteadust 1933-1938. Põgenes 1943. aasta aprillis Soome, oli üks "Eesti Büroo" töö organiseerijaid ning ajalehe "Malevlane" peatoimetaja abi 1943-1944. Põgenes 1944. aasta sügisel edasi Rootsi, organiseerides alul Riikliku Välismaalastekomisjoni sotsiaalbüroo assistendina eesti koole põgenikelaagreis. Oli Eesti Komitee teenistuses 1945-1982 (koolitoimkonna asutajaid ja esimees 1945-1956, büroojuhataja ja abiesimees 1954-1975, esimees 1975-1982, auesimees 1982), Demokraatliku Klubi asutajaid, Eesti Rahvusnõukogu asutajaid ja peasekretär 1951-1979, töötas kaasa Eesti Karskuskomitees, Eesti Liberaal-Demokraatlikus Koondises (abiesimees) ja Balti Komitees (abiesimees) jm. Ta oli Eesti Kirjanduse Seltsi auliige, Tartu Ülikooli audoktor 1998. Autasustatud Eesti Rahvusfondi kuldmärgiga, Poola Vabariigi I klassi kuldteenetemärgiga, Eesti Vabariigi Riigivapi II klassi teenetemärgiga 1996, jm. Artur Mägi 1945-1949 Artur (Arthur) Mägi sündis 29. augustil 1904 Järvamaal Väinjärve vallas Ramma külas ning suri 9. novembril 1981 Uppsalas. Isa koolijuhataja August M. (Undla vallast), ema Sophie Mägi (s. Bötker). Abiellus Lydia Taeverega (1900-1984). Lõpetas Paide Poeglaste Gümnaasiumi 1923, õppis Tartu Ülikoolis õigusteadust 1923-1929, mag. jur. 1935. Mobiliseeriti Punaarmeesse VIII 1941, pääses N. Liitu viimisest laeval "Eestirand" selle vigastamise tõttu sakslaste poolt, nn. Eesti Omavalitsuse majandusdirektooriumi juriidiline peanõunik 1941-1944. Põgenes 1944. aasta septembri lõpul Rootsi, alul arhiiviassistent, 1947. aastast kuni pensioneerumiseni riikliku stipendiaadina Uppsala Ülikooli riigiteaduse instituudi assistent. Eesti Teadusliku Instituudi riigi- ja haldusõiguse lektor 1953-1963. Võttis osa Eesti Rahvusfondi, Eesti Komitee ja Eesti Rahvusnõukogu tegevusest. Saanud Eesti Vabariigi Põhiseaduse mälestusmärgi (Uue Põhiseaduse mälestusmärgi) I klassi 1939, Kaitseliidu Valgeristi jm. Avaldanud uurimused "Suveräänsuse probleem" (Tartu, 1937), "Kuidas valitseti Eestis" (Stockholm, 1951), "Eesti riiklik korraldus: Loengud Eesti riigiõiguses Eesti Teadusliku Instituudi Õigusteaduskonnas 1952/53 ja 1953/54 õppeaastal" (Stockholm, 1954) ning "Das Staatsleben Estlands während seiner Selbstständigkeit. I: Das Regierungssystem" (Stockholm & Uppsala, 1967); ülevaated "Inimõigused ja nende kaitse" (Stockholm, 1972) ja "Conference at Helsinki and its Aftermath" (Stockholm, 1977) ning arvukalt õigusalaseid artikleid; toimetanud koguteose "Põhiseadus ja Rahvuskogu" (1938) jm. Helmut Maandi 1944; 1949-1953 Helmut Maandi (Maantee) sündis 5. juunil 1906 Harjumaal Rapla vallas Alumõisas veskirentniku (hiljem taluomaniku) Mart Maantee ning Mari Maantee (s. Vultmann) peres ning suri 27. oktoobril 1990 Stockholmis. Mart Maandi (1870- suri asumisel 1952) ja Mari Maandi (1874-) koos teise poja Arnoldi (1914-) abikaasa ja selle kahe tütrega küüditati märtsis 1949 Novosibirski oblastisse (vabanesid 1958). Vend Arnold (1914-) jäi küüditamata, arreteeriti mais 1950, karistati 12-aastase vabaduskaotusega, oli Karaganda oblastis Steplag'is, vabanes 1957; vend Eduard (1904-). Põgenes septembri lõpul 1944 Rootsi, ametnik Stockholmis 1944-1972, alul arhiivitööline, siis Riigimetsade valitsuse revisjoniosakonnas, hiljem büroodirektor majandusosakonnas. Eesti Rahvusnõukogu asutajaid ja peasekretär 1947-1951, kuulus Eesti Komitee asemikekogusse (a-ni 1953), Eesti Rahvusfondi esinduskogusse, oli Eesti Laenu-Hoiu Ühisuse juhatuse liige. Karl Johannes Terras 1920-1940 Karl Johannes Terras sündis 9. septembril 1890. a. Vaivara vallas taluomanikust vallakirjutaja Aleksandri ja Marie (s. Säkk) Terrase pojana. Terras õppis Vaivara kihelkonnakoolis, Bolotovi ettevalmistuskoolis ning Narva gümnaasiumis. 1916. aastal lõpetas Terras Peterburi ülikooli õigusteaduskonna. 1917. a. lõpetas ta kahurväekooli lipnikuna. 1916-1918 Vene, 1918-1919 Eesti sõjaväe teenistuses. Korraldas 1918. a. Kaitseliidu moodustamist Virumaal, oli 1918-1920 Sõjaministeeriumi juriskonsult ning kodifikatsiooniosakonna ülem. 1920. aastal sai Karl Johannes Terrasest valitsuse asjadevalitseja. 1921. aastal muudeti see ametikoht riigisekretäri ametikohaks, millel Terras töötas 1940. aastani olles ainus kõrgem riigiametnik, kes püsis oma ametikohal omariikluse kaks aastakümmet. Terras oli 1927-1940 Kaitseliidu Toompea malevkonna pealik, ta korraldas 1934-1940 Eesti Spordi Keskliidu esimehena spordielu. Kuulus 1936. a. põhiseaduse koostamise komisjoni, esindas 1937. a. riigivanemat ja valitsust Rahvuskogu komisjonides põhiseaduse projekti läbivaatamisel, nimetati 1938. a. Riiginõukogu liikmeks. Terras kuulus Estonia teatriseltsi juhatusse, oli EÜS Põhjala liige ning muusikaseltsi Edu auliige, V klassi Kotkaristi kavaler. Abielus Alide Grassiga, poeg Aleksander (s. 1920). Karl Johannes Terras arreteeriti Nõukogude okupatsioonivõimude poolt 7. jaanuaril 1941. a. ning ta suri 25. veebruaril 1942. a. Kirovi vangilaagris. Theodor Andreas Käärik 1918-1920 Theodor Andreas Käärik sündis 10. novembril 1889. aastal Viljandi valla Karksi külas kooliõpetaja Andrese ja tema abikaasa Leena pojana. Hariduse omandas ta Pärnu gümnaasiumis (1905-1910), Moskva Ülikooli õigusteaduskonnas (1910-1911 ja 1912-1914) ja Peterburi Ülikooli õigusteaduskonnas (1916-1917). Juba 1917. aastal oli ta töötanud Eesti Rahvuskongressi Eesti Ajutise Maavalituse rahandusosakonna sekretärina. 11. novembril 1918, samal päeval kui võim Tallinnas läks üle Ajutisele Valitsusele, loodi ka Riigikantselei eelkäija Ajutise Valitsuse Kantselei. Esimeseks ametisse nimetatud asjadevalitseja kohusetäitjaks sai Theodor Käärik. 12. novembrist 1918 kuni 18. novembrini 1919 oli Käärik Ajutise Valitsuse asjadevalitseja, kust vabastati seoses Asutava Kogu liikmeks valimisega. Pärast seda, kui aprillis 1919 oli kokku kutsutud Asutav Kogu ja ametisse kutsutud valitsus, nimetati Ajutise Valitsuse Kantselei ümber Vabariigi Valitsuse Kantseleiks. 21. detsembril 1920, seoses Põhiseaduse jõustumisega, nimetati asutus Riigikantseleiks ning asjadevalitseja riigisekretäriks. Aastatel 1920-1923 töötas Käärik tollel ajal erakordselt vastutusrikkal Riigikassa Peavalituse juhataja ametikohal. Käärikut võib seega pidada Eesti üheks informeeritumaks isikuks Eesti Vabariigi algusaastatel. Alates 1923. aastast kuni surmani 1940. a. töötas Käärik Riigi Trükikoja juhatajana.
